What is excessive sweating?
Excessive sweating is caused by a medical condition called Hyperhidrosis. Many people suffer from excessive sweating unnecessarily, simply because they are not aware of the treatments available.
This condition can affect adolescents and adults. Hyperhidrosis can affect any body area but is usually characterized by excessive sweating of the underarms, hands, feet, or face.
While there is no cure for hyperhidrosis, there are highly effective treatments that can slow down and control your excessive sweating.
Dr. Friedman’s Treatment Approach to Excessive Sweating
One of the most effective treatments for hyperhidrosis is Botox, which Dr. David Friedman generally performs in the armpits. This treatment effects usually last between 7-10 months.
Dr. Friedman recommends performing Botox in the armpits right before the summer, in March, April and May, so that you will enjoy the full benefit of the treatment throughout the spring and summer.
At your consultation, Dr. Friedman will assess the area or areas where you are suffering from excessive sweating and will prescribe the appropriate course of treatment.
