What Are Stretch Marks?
Stretch marks are typically associated with rapid weight gain or growth, hormonal imbalances and pregnancy.
Marks vary in appearance and can be red, white, silvery, thin or wide.
Dr. Friedman’s Treatment Approach to Stretch Marks
Dr. David Friedman, a U.S. and Israel Board Certified Dermatologist for over 25 years, has extensive experience treating stretch marks.
Dr. Friedman recommends early intervention for stretch marks, in order to achieve optimal results. Varying laser therapies can be used alone or in combination to penetrate to the dermal skin layer to stimulate new collagen fibers to grow. Over the course of the treatment program, stretch marks generally fade and become less visible.
While the stretch marks are still red, Dr. Friedman performs treatments with a Pulse-Dye laser, with minimal downtime.
When the marks are treated at a later stage, they often have a white and indented appearance. In order to treat these types of marks, Dr. Friedman generally uses the Pico or Fractionated CO2 Laser.
At your consultation, Dr. Friedman will first assess your stretch marks and will then create a personalized treatment plan for you.
